Releasing This Sunday May 15 New CheddarGetter Changes

PayPal has approved our integration, and we’ve scheduled our release.

Sunday, May 15 at 23:00 Eastern Daylight Time (GMT-4) we will be deploying a whole truckload of changes to CheddarGetter. These upgrades will require a short maintenance window while scripts update our databases. We expect no more than 20 minutes of total down time.

For those of you not familiar with the changes we’re rolling out, feel free to read the blog post. To summarize, we’re releasing:

  • PayPal integration (you only need a simple Premiere account!)
  • Hosted Payment Pages (no need to worry about PCI compliance)
  • Quick Start wizard (get up and running fast)
  • New Pricing (Starting Up rate $9/mo; Blowing Up rate $79/mo)

Please make note if you are a current customer that during the maintenance window, the standard HTTP header 503 Service Unavailable will be returned by the GUI and API. The body of the response to an API call will be a standard error response with a code of 503 and a message of: “The subscription system is temporarily offline for planned maintenance”.

The Expected Behavior gem, Mousetrap gem, and the PHP wrapper have all been tested to ensure that this error message is handled in a satisfactory way. If you’re using a different wrapper and you want to see how your app reacts to a 503 error, let us know.

We’d like to thank our 20+ alpha testers for putting these new features through the ringer for us, and ensuring they’re ready for the real world.
